25 and 26 November 2015 took place in Prague first international conference DIGI Use of digital technology in cultural hritage. Conference was organized by Omnium in cooperation with the Center for documentation and digitization of cultural heritage at the Faculty of Arts, University of Jan Evangelista in Ústí nad Labem and Conservation Institute Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University in Prague. The general partner of the event was the company Prima Bilavčík from Uherský Brod.
The conference was thematically divided into three blocks. The first part was devoted to the issue of 3D digitization, comparison of methods for collecting spatial data, comparing results and various examples of presentation possibilities outputs. The second part was focused on BIM (BuildingInformation Modeling / Management). Petr Vaněk, Petr Beran and Rudolf Vyhnálek spoke about BIM , its expansion in Europe and in the Czech Republic, the creation of the BIM model for historic buildings in the project preparation and the benefits of BIM for architectural preservativ.
The third lecture block was dedicated to digitizing historic documents, books and photographs. Workers digitization centers National Archives, municipal libraries and the National Heritage Institute present papers from which was evident that all the institutions that digitize printed materials, deal with similar problems, and the conference DIGI 2015 was at least beneficial in a plane connections between the workers and establish debate over the problem. Digitization of the French press, and methods of digitizing French National Library presented Yohann Le Tallec of the French Institute in Prague. France on the gradual digitization of archival materials, works longer than the institutions in the Czech Republic and employs this work disproportionately more people, so in this respect the digitization several steps ahead of us.
